Basic Orthodontics Course

As Vincent Kokich wrote a few years ago in a well-known editorial in the American Journal, there are biological and aesthetic principles in orthodontics that research has shown to be inviolable regardless of the appliance used.

Program

Today’s orthodontics, in the twenty-first century, despite the great evolution and development of techniques and materials, is still a discipline that requires culture and mastery of the fundamental biological and biomechanical principles.

As Kokich states: “Certain biologic and esthetic principles exist in orthodontics and dentistry that previous research has shown are inviolate, no matter what magic device we use.” (AJO 2014)
There is no doubt that knowledge of the fundamentals of diagnosis and the consequent development of an appropriate treatment plan, along with individualized control of tooth movement in the three dimensions, is key to obtaining a treatment with a stable, aesthetic, and functionally valid result.

This course emphasizes the fundamentals of orthodontics and uses them as the foundation to explore, with solid cultural bases, the most modern developments in the discipline — precisely what is needed to aim for clinical excellence in our profession.

The Basic Orthodontics Course already includes the TEOS – Back to Basic and Biomechanics Course, allowing participants to strengthen their theoretical foundations and immediately delve into essential biomechanical principles. This provides a complete, well-structured training path that can be applied straight away in daily clinical practice.
